We were invited down to this event and were looking forward to playing a gig in one of the coolest little bars in Leeds alongside some old faces in the scene like the Gary Stewart Band and Silverlode. It seems however that the 2 days of hippy fest before had led to the Sunday being a bit of a wash out.
Turning up to a gig and the doors being locked when the festival was supposed to start 2 hours earlier is never a good sign. We were told 4 bands pulled out at the last minute ... i guess they knew something we did not?
Sound man turned up at the end of our set? (errrm) and i guess this one goes down as one of those gigs you have to learn to walk away from when you have a gut feeling things are just not going to happen.
Sometimes you put in so much effort and get little in return from the promoters. You live, you learn and bad gigs like bad guitars just build character.
Roll on the Courthouse gig, will be great :)
